Bored Sight

Since 2019, studio AATB is active in the Swiss and European film industry under the moniker Superposition. Under a range of robotic systems developed over the years to fulfil the needs of various film productions, lies deeper explorations of the machine gaze, robotic eyes operating under the careful directions of Humans, sometimes taking a life of their own. At Basecamp 2023 during Locarno Film Festival, AATB proposes an examination of techniques used to emulate organic and geometric movements, blurring the boundary between Human and Machine operators, as the camera seamlessly mutates from numerical to analog controls and back.
